It happened around 6 a.m. near Mill Race Road near Macungie.
One person was hospitalized but the extent of their injuries is unknown as of midday Friday, transportation officials told Daily Voice.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said the northbound lanes between Quakertown Exit #44 and Lehigh Valley Exit #56 were closed Friday morning.
